Mid-market businesses say they're more confident about their ability to compete globally

As the CEO of an IT staffing agency with IT management consulting services, I know that in order to attract and retain the best employees, companies of all sizes need to be able to demonstrate that they have something to offer these candidates. One advantage mid-market companies, like the Ascent Services Group, have is the ability to ride out a turbulent economy.

The financial downturn made it difficult for some businesses to stay afloat, however according to a recent report from BMO Harris and Forbes Insights many mid-market companies were able to compete by constantly adapting to new technologies, which allowed them to maintain growth and retain existing workers.

As a result, many mid-sized businesses are confident about their ability to grow and attract top talent within the next two to three years, now that the economy is recovering.

"Mid-market business leaders are optimistic, and a clear majority expects revenue growth in 2012 and 2013, in spite of the current lackluster economy," according to Dave Casper, an executive with, BMO Harris Bank. "The middle market has largely sidestepped the broader downturn in the economy over the past few years, and they are well positioned for further growth."

Businesses that are less-than-confident about their ability to sustain development into the future may want to consider an alliance with an IT staffing firm with experience delivering IT management consulting and leadership development services. These professionals may introduce concepts and practices businesses can deploy to build a foundation for future success.

In addition, an IT staffing firm can aid with talent recruitment, helping to introduce clients to the right type of workers for their environment, whether on a permanent or temporary basis.
